Off Your Duff

Off Your Duff started many years ago. But was discontinued because life interfered. I am the worlds worse procrastinator, putter offer, lazy person you have ever met.

I keep my natural tendencies in check by practicing what I preach. It still doesn’t come easy for me but my life is much better for it. Getting old has a way of getting your to look back on the life you have had. Mine has been pretty good so far.

Many people are happy to drift through life, letting it take them where it will. Usually, I have found, this eventually lands you on a shore where you didn’t want to be. Looking back and wondering what happened to all of the time.

Anyway I digress, this is an About  page not a soap box, I have a category for that.

My history in a nutshell. Spent many years in the Service during a war in the jungle most of you don’t remember. Went to school after I got out ended up with a Masters in counseling, specifically rehabilitation counseling.

Found during this time I was interested in what is different in people that are “motivated” and accomplish their goals and the ones who don’t. Left the bureaucracy and did seminars with company leaders and supervisors on motivating their employees.

What a bunch of crap. Companies pretty much believe what the current “expert” is telling them is true. My mother raised me to be “terminally honest”, so I left the seminar world taught myself web design. Been doing that for a long time.

Now I am building a lot of sites with WordPress and have a fair living. Off Your Duff does have sponsors, but mostly it is done because I believe in it, so enjoy. Visit the people who pay for it, if you want to, it is not required. Or just buy me a cup of coffee there is going to be a link for that.
